Ota was lost in his art, time meant nothing. He was focused and continued to paint for hours. Now that he had the drive and passion, he loved being in his studio. He had her to thank for that. She really was his muse. A small smile formed on his face as he hears his phone going off, he trained her well. He answers it almost immediately.
“Hey, perfect timing. I was going to tell you to meet me in the penthouse later. I just got done here.” He said while cleaning up his supplies and heading out of the studio. He listened as she went on about her day, and that she would be waiting for him to get there. ‘What a good pet’ Ota thought, although the relationship they shared was beyond that of a pet and her master. Some habits die hard.

Ota got into the elevator and rode it all the way to the top, anxious to see her. He was already planning out what they would do, he would make her take a bath so he could dry her hair. It was so fluffy it was hard to resist. The doors slowly opened and he took a step out to see her in the arms of someone else. It wasn’t hard to figure out who it was. Eisuke. But why, what business would cause him to hug her.

Her eyes caught Ota’s and she pulled away from Eisuke right away. He was half inclined to beat Eisuke’s face in, but Ota couldn’t. Eisuke was the boss man, he was in charge and had more power than anyone. He couldn’t go up against someone like that without it backfiring right away.
Before she could get far Eisuke grabbed her arm, “I’m serious. I can’t get you out of my head. I need you.” The desire for her burned in his gaze as he stared at her. There was something special about her that grabbed his attention and wouldn’t let it go. Eisuke, the man that usually got what he wanted, yet knowing that she was Ota’s girl made him back off. But he couldn’t take it anymore. The desire was driving him to do things that he wouldn’t have ever considered before, he wasn’t acting like himself. This girl placed him under a spell without realizing it.

Ota tore her away from Eisuke, “That’s not funny, she’s mine. She will always be mine.” He placed himself between them, marking his territory but what came next was a surprise to him. “Ota… We need to talk…”
He looked behind him to see her, tears brimming around her eyes almost spilling out. “I… We aren’t working. This relationship… It’s not good. I can’t do it anymore. I’m going with Eisuke.” The shock of her words almost knocked Ota off his feet. She couldn’t be serious. Sure the relationship started off a little rough, and he was mean but it was all in good humor. He loved her more than anything.

Ota was at a loss for words and silence continued till she spoke softly. “I’m sorry… I do love you… But I can’t be with you.” She moved around him and went to Eisuke, they quickly left together leaving Ota in the hallway. The only good thing in his life just left. He sunk to the floor and ran his hand through his hair.
——
A few months have passed and no one really has heard from Ota since then. He went back to his studio and hardly came out. He continued to paint, yes, but all his work was different and the art world was buzzing about it. Coming up with theories or ideas about why it changed so much. The bright vivid colors he used were changed to dark tones. All the paintings seemed to be soulless. His heart was empty, and it reflected in his brush.
Hearing a phone ring Ota stopped painting for a second to see who it was. Baba. No one from the penthouse really bothered trying to get a hold of him except for Baba. Baba informed him there was going to be another auction, and he wanted Ota to join. To authenticate some of the pieces that were going to be there as well as some of the work that Baba stole recently.
How could he go there knowing she would be there with another man? He refused at first but Baba eventually won him over, it was the first time he has been outside in a month. The first time he has been back at the penthouse since that day. He got into the elevator, riding it all the way to the top he walked into the lounge and found everyone there. There was a few comments made from Kishi and Soryu, nothing out of the ordinary though. Baba greeted Ota happily and they started to work when he heard her voice.
His body froze, even with all that time they spent apart he couldn’t forget her. He belonged to her, body and soul, even if she rejected him and went with another. He would always be hers, there would be no one on this earth that could replace her. He contented himself with a quick glance, she looked happy and healthy. His heart swelled with the sight, but his body ached. How much he longed to go over to her and hold her, press his lips against hers and knowing he couldn’t. He wasn’t hers anymore.
But if she was stolen from him, who’s to say he can’t steal her back?

Get To Know The Character: Keiichiro Minase

Game Information
Title: Bad Boys Do It Better
Company: Voltage Inc

Note
This does contain a small amount of minor spoilers

General Information
★ Name: Keiichiro Minase
★ Nickname: Kei
★ Birthday: July 19
★ Height: 6'0" (182.8 cm)

Archetype
I believe he is a kuudere type, which is defined as:

"The kuudere (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word “cool” and Japanese “deredere” which means to become lovey-dovey) is a character who is calm and collected, sometimes coming off as cold-hearted and indifferent, and is often non-communicative. Deep down, however, he hides an affection for the MC. Unlike the very similar tsundere character type, kuuderes will never lose their “cool”, nor moodswing from cold to hot (and vice versa), but will typically turn from cold and quiet to caring and loving." - Chudah (DND)

While he isn't cold hearted, he does tend to come off as calm and collected. He rarely shows his emotions, not in the stoic kind of way, but close to the chest kind of a fellow. But he is so sweet, and thoughtful of other people. He is aware and does his best to protect those that need protecting and will help anyone when asked.

I thought he would be the most "scary" of the guys in the game, but his relationships with all the other guys is more like one of a mom and kids. He keeps them from fighting, and he nags them when needed. Not that he has a lot of room to stand on, skipping classes himself, etc. But he certainly is mom ish at times

Semi Spoiler
He does show a steady stream of affection for the MC, which according to his friends is really unusual. You find out at the end of his main story that he fell in love with MC at first sight. And it's cause of this attraction he feels protective and wants to do what he can for her. Not everyone move out her way, more like a pillar of support and someone to rely on.

Additional Information
★ He can't really handle hot foods/drinks
★ Tends to drink ice coffee
★ Found a cat and named it Toshirou before realizing it was a girl
★ He rides a motorcycle
★ Ranked number 1 on school midterm
Semi Spoiler
★ His best friend died in an accident a few years back

Overall
I think he is a real endearing character. I like how this story was set up, I like the interactions he had with the MC and the other guys. He is just one of the guys you want to have as your friend (or boyfriend). You know he will always have your back and you can always turn to him when you need help or just someone to talk to. He has his own baggage but I felt like he dealt with it as well as any kid his age would. In fact he might have done it even better, he didn't go seeking revenge or anything like that. He dealt with it in a mature manner. While there was another person that was trying to keep him weighted down I still felt the growth he had.

His integrity is also something I admire. He makes and keeps his promises, and knows when to apologize. I feel like he holds himself to a higher standard than most would at his age. Partly because of his past, but I feel deep down that's who he is.

Get To Know The Game: Bad Boys Do It Better

General Information
Released: July 8, 2016
Company: Voltage Inc
Opening: Youtube

Note
This overview is spoiler free.
You can also get to know the characters of this game in a spoiler free way. Link to that is at the bottom of the page.

Overview
So the plot is rather simple and easy to follow. Your family moves away but you stay behind. You move into a dorm, which surprise, is full of all boys. Who happen to all be in your class, in yet another surprise, an all boys school. You are now that only girl in an all boys school. That's basically it. You are adjusting to being in a new school, living in a dorm, being separated from your family, and all that good stuff.

Thoughts
Now I thought this game was rather interesting for a few new reasons. Not that ground breaking plot, but Voltage did a lot of cool things with the operating system that I haven't really seen since. First they added a special choice. It's a giant heart that spins and you tap it if you want to 'go for it' or 'pull back.' Depending on what you pick it alters your love meter accordingly.

I thought it was a rather cute way to interact with a game. It also made deciding what you want to do easier. Instead of three choice you now have two, and you don't know what the dialog is going to be. You can usually make a pretty good guess what kind of reactions certain text boxes will give you, taking that away gave me surprises I couldn't really predict. It was refreshing.

Another thing they added was the text boxes. These text boxes were different that other games in the sense that it was a fix box. You couldn't alter the opacity at all. If I remember correctly I believe this is also the first time the font you have on your phone/tablet didn't translate into the game. It had a set font, I could be wrong on that though.

But if you notice the text box makes it look like he talking. Other than indicating the name, the indent also moves to where the sprite is. Center, left or right, and if the MC is the one talking it's pointing to the bottom of the screen. I really like this feature, it's almost like an otome game with training wheels but it was so cute. I say training wheels because they only appear when someone is talking, like a comic text. So you can see speech, actions and thought sentences better.

Again if I remember this correctly this seems like the first time sprites moved and the MC could blink her eyes. I remember laughing so hard when one of the sprites "walked closer" to the MC. Just the images of the sprite bobbing up and down as it got larger was so funny. There are a lot of small features in this game that makes it feel there is more depth to it. You aren't just reading something with pictures. It's more game like.

Additionally
So I thought that the plot was meh and the MC was also meh. Nothing really stands out about this plot line. You see it all the time in animes, and I get that it's hard to make it different to stand out. But the more I played the game I started to think they chose this kind of plot to tinker with the operating system and try new things rather than putting out a game with a lot of content. Because as of right now the game has a main story and epilogue for 5 characters, and the 5 or 6 sub stories. That's it. And it's not like they have a screen that says 'sequel coming soon.' It straight up ends after the epilogue. Which I appreciate, I don't know how you could keep this kind of plot going for more stories without it being super predictable. So for this kind of plot the MC fits perfectly. High school student that doesn't really know love. All the typical MC behaviors that annoy a lot of people in different games.

I am kind of sad they never made two other character dateable. I was waiting for the surprise announcement to be like. Guess what, you can totes date this guy too. In Dreamy Days in West Tokyo there are two older characters you can date, in the Japan version of Class Trip Crush you can romance the teach. So I thought along the lines of, well they are similar school type games with high school MC's, why can't I date an older guy here too? Pretty sure they don't have anything in Japan either.

Final Thoughts
I feel like this is a decent game. I'm glad that I purchased routes in it. It's very cute. I don't know if I will say people should play this as their first game. Since it's very bland I guess. But I think it's a game to purchase to play when you are waiting for another game, or taking a break. It's a good way to pass the time. Not in the sense of 'am I eating because I'm board?' but between the OS, which I think is my favorite of all the games, and pretty graphics it's a good change of pace

You don't have to worry about spending too much money on the game, since there isn't a lot of content to buy. And there are no plans for future released, so you don't have to worry about that. It's a one and done kind of deal.
